Conditional Undertaking - Compliance and Enforcement of certain Registration and Labelling Requirements

The WELS Regulator has issued a Conditional Undertaking to address labelling requirements in the WELS Standard, AS/NZS 6400:2005 Water efficient products - Rating and labelling (Amendment 6). The WELS Regulator has undertaken to not take enforcement action under sections 34, 37 or 38 under a number of conditions. Guidance - Labelling of WELS products in advertising materials

The WELS Regulator has issued a guidance to clarify advertising labelling requirements of WELS Standard, AS/NZS 6400:2005 Water efficient products - Rating and labelling (Amendment 6). For more information see Guidance - Labelling of WELS products in advertising materials.

Amendment 6 to WELS standard published

Amendment six to the WELS standard, AS/NZS 6400:2005 Water efficient products - Rating and labelling was finalised following a public consultation period from early April 2013 to 20 May 2013. It is now published and will be available from Monday 16 September 2013 as a free download at the SAI Global website

The amendment includes important changes, which are expected to be effective in the WELS Scheme from 15 September 2013, that include:

  • the definition of a model, which will be used to determine:
  • the model count
  • the applicable fee for the next WELS registration year
  • when a product requires a separate registration
  • a description of type of flow controllers that must be registered
